The Gentlemen of California Kappa have been making huge strides to raise capital for a purchase of a new chapter house. California Kappa is the 5th largest chapter of Phi Kappa Psi nationally. They even top out ahead of sister school UCLA and remain the elite fraternity at UC Irvine. California Kappa is the ONLY large chapter of Phi Kappa Psi that doesn't have a house. A recent visit by the national ELC observed the chapter and stated:
"I've been across the nation, from Florida to Oregon, and I've seen many chapters. Never before have I seen a chapter that is able to maintain such outstanding members. Never before have I witnessed a chapter that is top house...without even having a house. I've been to chapters that have 20 members and a 60 person house, and they can't even fill it. California Kappa is in need of a central location. California Kappa deserves a chapter house."

California Kappa has continuously dominated student government, IFC Sports, with countless championship titles; Academics, with a GPA significantly higher than all chapters, the All University, and All Mens GPAs; Greek Life, with several recent Greek Week Championships; Philanthropy, with over 2,500 recorded hours in the last year and the most innovative events UCI has seen; and Brotherhood, with the most united group of men sharing bonds of brotherhood for life.
The resume for California Kappa can go on an on with victories in every aspect of fraternity life. One rarely can walk the 30,000 person campus of UC Irvine and not see or hear something Phi Psi related. The presence on campus makes Phi Kappa Psi the top house at UCI...without even having a chapter house.
Unfortunatley, not having a central location to meet is extremely disruptive for the chapter. Often times, the conferencing services for the campus cuts meetings spaces at the last minute. Individual houses rarely can accomadate the large chapter due to parking issues and inadequate work space. California Kappa has grown drastically since the absence of a chapter house in 2006. Imagine the possibilities and potential this chapter can achieve with a central location.
The brothers and alumni of California Kappa have set a goal for a down payment on a chapter house and currently, the chapter has raised $103,416.52 based on donations to the Campaign fund via the Endowment Fund. Just a minimum donation of $10 a month to the Campaign fund helps. However, to truly achieve this goal, the brothers need your help. Over 500 brothers have passed through California Kappa since its inception in 1989. The Orange County/LA Area have over 4,000 registered alumni from across the nation. UC irvine is in the heart of Orange County, where home prices are the highest in the nation. With the recent housing crisis, the opportunity to buy cheap is NOW and California Kappa asks for your help at this time.
Please donate to our campaign via the Endowment Fund and be sure to select "California Kappa Campaign Fund" from the drop down bar. We greatly appreciate a minimum subscription of $10 a month.
